The whole new experience - Review by from Russia
5 out of 5
Sorry in advance - English is not my first language :)

To be honest, I am quite new to the watch world. "Three hands with a date" is pretty much all I have experienced before. Never thought anything else makes sense for a wrist watch these days, when a "phone" with it's ridiculous functionality and apps variety sits in every pocket.
You probably should not read this any further if you are an expert :)

Well, old habits die hard they say - that's right, I am still looking at my wrist when I want to know what time is it... So, to the point - I decided to put on something more sophisticated and "watchier" than my old three-hander.

I heard of the Citizen Eco-drive and it looks perfect. E820 Citizen mechanism (yeah, I've learned a new meaning of the "caliber" word) provides an impressive power managing functionality, especially the low charge indication. The second hand literally points to the marker "charge" (my watch came discharged, it's ok, this is not a new model after all and it had to be stored somewhere). You can't miss it! And even if you managed to - it will show your the "stop" marker if it had to stop, and will remind you to correct your time settings with the "set" marker afterwards. Perfectly safe and clear even for a novice like me.

Titanium case with some high-tech coating and the sapphire glass adds to the "safe" feeling :) So, for the very beginning we have a perfectly safe and robust time indicator with literally endless potential service time (well, long enought to not worry).

Okay, good enough already, but what else?

Date which will be always correct becuase it has the "perpetual callender". (Yeah, I had to get through the manual to set the callender first, but you have to do this just once and forget about 31th and every 4th year's February ;) ) Perfect.

Chronograph with 0.05 seconds accuracy - perfect! Read the manual, it is (for a change) really easy to use convenient function.

Second time zone - again, it is simply perfect. After you have set it up, you can jsut switch to it with a single move of the crown. And you'll newer loose you time accuracy (seconds and minutes are not affected, and Citizen will adjust hours automatically for you). Will I use this fucntion? Definitely,as I have a few different time zone business trips every year. And the 24 hours display adds to this function convenience.

And the alarm clock - again, 24 hours - based, so you'll have it precisely when you need it.

Well, a little unexpected for an unexperienced watch user like me, but all the functionality this watch provides is really useful for me and very well implemented too. Honestly, I'd expect them to be just a "marketing lures" of sort, but they are not :) This watch is so much more than my old good three-handers :)

I do realize all this is pretty much the delight of a neophite :) But it does mean I will use my new watch with pleasure, and most probably will try something new later :)

Probably with the the Duty Free Island again, as the cervices and prices are really good here. Thank you!

I decided to make myself a gift for the new year and enjoy a decent watch.
Mechanics are not considered as hours appreciate the practicality and accuracy.
Take a clock radio timing - to me it makes no sense. Still will not work because the nearest tower is located in Germany, we have to signal lack. Watches with GPS are unreasonable money. I decided to take a good gauge without radio synchronization.

Formalize their Wishlist, I got the following criteria:
Essential criteria:
-Only Quartz.
-Korpus Stainless steel or titanium.
-WR At least 10 atmospheres (not scuba dive, but swim - like).
-Color Body - steel or titanium, anodizing and paint do not want.
-Just Mineral glass or sapphire, no plastic.

Desired criteria:
-Availability Separate stopwatch with intervals of not less than one hour.
How did the presence of the alarm option.
-Kontrastny, But not too overloaded with dial colors: shades of black, silver or light green.
-Mechanism Should not be too loud.
-Quantitative Svetonakopitel the arrows and at least four points on the dial.
-How Good option - the presence of the electroluminescent backlight.
-Availability Date.
-Size Enclosure - 40..44 mm, with a reasonable thickness.

According to these criteria were selected by an interesting model for me. And then I went to and hovered there for a couple of days ... There's also prompted me reliable shops with interesting prices, which can take hours.
As a result, to Wishlist Add charging from the sun. This technology allows you to watch does not serve 10-15 years.
We pick up the following models:

Seiko Prospex Solar SSC075P1 steel, mineral water
Citizen Eco-Drive CA0551-50E sapphire, titanium
Citizen Eco-Drive CA0131-55E titanium mineral water
Citizen Eco-Drive CA0190-56E titanium sapphire
Citizen Eco-Drive BL5540-53E sapphire, steel, vechnik, Service second time zone

More thinking and looking at their Casio - I rule out the clock with mineral glass.
As a result, I decided to take the watch more classic look but with complications in the form of three additional dials. I stopped on models BL5540 and BL5530.

And yet, I decided to take a lightweight titanium watch with a durable coating Duratect.

Watches come in pupyrchatoy package.
Inside the package was discovered original box and separate package with instructions and a guarantee that. Warranty spreader is empty, but it is worth the small print DFI (type, if that - fill yourself).
Hours are securely packed inside, have a cardboard label.
Watches come charged, the second hand is running normally.

First I checked Zero Shooter (Zero adjustment is not required), set time and set up a calendar.
Quite simply, if there is an instruction. He used the translated version of the instruction to gauge E82 * with offline
If you are interested, I posted instructions on the cloud.

Second - shortened bracelet removed one link. The axis is pressed on the arrow indicated on the back of the bracelet link. The links of the bracelet alloy axis --metal, a cylindrical shape with chamfers at the edges, not split (in the same Casio). For the axis of fixation uses special split bush, which have to be able not to lose.

The sleeve is inserted into the hole at the end of the projection unit by the arrows.

No axle or hub, by the way, is not a magnet. The axis moves with a very visible effort. Spontaneous vypolzanija axis - is unlikely.

Bracelet and part of the housing - matte, have a subtle longitudinal satin and seem a little toning (Duratect).
The dial is black glossy. on the dial there is an inscription in very small print that are made in Japan watch, E820 Set caliber and serial number (?! caliber). Arrows and risks have white insert svetonakopitelya. Seconds and additional hands - painted white and have svetonakopitelya. Extra dials are ringed pattern.
Date window is small and has a white edging, the date itself is recessed enough, displays white numerals on a black background.
Flat glass, slightly protrudes above the body and the reflected light has a light purple antireflection coating. If glare is absent - it seems that the glass is not there.
The crown of the digital type (with no direct link with the arrow) is distinguishable discrete "clicks", outside fully glazed, without incisions, which is a minus.

The clock is almost silent, you can hear the light clicks only if you bring close to your ear. Second hand exactly enters the division. The minute hand moves every 15 seconds. The date changes at midnight, with the arrow right ext. dial quickly makes 4 turns. When adjusting the time - second hand automatically becomes the zero position and starts to go only after pushing in the crown, it is very convenient when setting up. Minutes when setting change is discrete, hand itself takes the correct position (goodbye Fishing exact hit in the risk from Casio).

The watch has a power-saving mode, in the dark in a few hours the second hand stops. When a light - automatically keeps going.
According to the manufacturer - a full charge will last for two years in economy mode.

Profiles are displayed on the lower dial and switch at half (one click) put forward by the crown.
The left dial indicates the time in 24 hour format.
Calendar adjusted once when setting up the specified year and month. Manually edit the date in the month, which is less than 31 - not required.
Alarm is not particularly loud, but I have to wake up is enough. He squirms about 15 seconds or until you press the button. Service Repeats every day. It can be turned off.
In chronograph mode Report seconds being second hand, minute counted on the right ext. dial. Starts and stops the chronograph top button, when chronograph is stopped by pressing the lower button - show hundredths of a second up to 0.05.
The second time zone mode - You can set a deviation of ± 11 hours. When switching to this mode - the arrows themselves run out at the right time.

The clock on the hand:

Watches are very easy on hand to quickly forget about them.
Size - for me - the most it, the watch has a thickness of 10 mm, but look even thinner due to the tapered fastening tabs bracelet. The diameter, for me, almost perfect - 42 mm. The clasp has two side spring retainer and the micro two-position (two holes for spring pin), on the same budget Orient 3 stars - these holes 8 pieces.
But with the band change - there will be problems ... Fixing a specific form.

Cover screw hours, Eco-Drive has an inscription indicating that the clock made in Japan, they are titanium coated with Duratect. Issued watch if I am not mistaken in decoding, in March 2016.

Lum has a blue tint.

By the end of the night noticeably subtle glow in the dark.

In general, I am satisfied with the purchase.

Titan, on the case and bracelet with a wear-resistant coating.
-Sapfirovoe Glass with illumination.
-Zaryadka From the light, the clock does not require maintenance for a very long time.
-Good, Time-tested and functional caliber with perpetual calendar, chronograph, alarm, second zone and date.
-A Great appearance and optimum dimensions.
An optimal protection against water.
Not bad, nice lum.

Mountings bracelet makes it impossible to replace it on the belt.
-Small, Recessed date.
Head 'slippery, without rolling.
